What is ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease)?
ALS, or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. A-myo-trophic comes from the Greek language. “A” means no, “myo” refers to muscle, and “trophic” means nourishment – “No muscle nourishment.”
What is Reiki? Reiki is Universal Life Force. During a Reiki treatment, the practitioner performs a “laying on of hands” and channels universal energy into the client. There are no paid scientific studies or trials on the effects of Reiki healing in ALS patients. However, there are individual testimonials of improvement in patients with ALS who have undergone this type of treatment.
Testimonies of the effects on Reiki and ALS include but not limited to:
