Muscular System Tincture

Tincture for a Healthy Muscular System

Marshmallow root – has been documented as being used in ancient Greece, Egypt, the Middle East, and Rome for a multitude of things including its high mucilaginous compounds helping to lubricate dry tissues including painful joints, as an anti-inflammatory, and its use in stimulating the cells that support tissue regeneration.

Hawthorn – for strengthening cardiac muscle, increasing heart muscle contraction, heart rate, nerve transmission, and heart muscle irritability. Often called “the heart herb”, hawthorn has been used for centuries for all kinds of serious heart concerns and various cardio-protective abilities.

Nettle leaf for its naturally high levels of high calcium, magnesium, and iron along with selenium, and zinc. Nettle also contains vitamins A (retinol), B group, C (ascorbic acid), and K, all of which improve iron absorption in the body.

Observational studies have shown that selenium and calcium intake can be significantly associated with muscle mass. Magnesium, selenium, iron, and zinc intake were significantly and positively associated with physical performance in older adults.

Horsetail – is high in silica and helps to strengthen the connective tissues in bones and joints. Silica naturally helps to increase flexibility while preventing the development of arthritis, is a natural anti-inflammatory, and is a natural component of the body that stimulates bone mineralization and formation. As for the muscular system, silica helps to synthesize elastin and collagen. Silica is necessary for the body to produce collagen. Our own natural levels decrease as we age.

Gotu kola – stimulates new collagen synthesis. As we age collagen levels begin to decrease affecting muscle and joint elasticity and flexibility as well as matters with the heart, arterial health, gut health, respiratory concerns, immunity, and energy levels.

Bladderwrack – for helping to prevent the breakdown of collagen. *Collagen accounts for 30% of your body’s protein. It provides structure, support, and strength to the skin, muscles, bones, and connective tissues as well as supports thyroid function. * An underactive thyroid can lead to muscle disease.
